PMU Mares - The Abuse Continues…

PMU stands for Pregnant Mare Urine.  It is a key ingredient in a medication called Premarin.  When we first heard about this process and the abuse that PMU mares have to endure, we were completely shocked that this can occur in this day and age.  Well not only does it occur but it is still growing.  The conditions that these mares have to endure are heart breaking. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVES- DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN!

This is Chameleon who was abandoned in Perris California.  He was left on his own and arrived injured and underweight.  He is doing much better and has gained about 40 lbs. so far!  Please donate for his continued improvement.

Horse Killers- Sonny, King and Quincy have been saved from this ending!  With your help we can continue to rescue more!

They call them “horse killers” they are semi trucks filled with horses going over the border to Mexico where you can kill them legally.  The horse killers do not have anything in mind but money and getting their rig to Mexico with minimal damage to their truck.  Each horse is worth about $800 to them; and they are sold as meat to the primarily Asian community.

The torture comes with the travels in the trucks.  To keep a horse calm in a cramped truck for days of travel is nearly impossible.

Horse Slaughter
  • They fall down and get trampled to death
  • The killer drivers cut their eyes out, which ulitimately calms them down when they can no longer see
  • If they fall down, they typically break a leg and cannot get up
  • They do not provide food or water

These trucks drive within a couple miles of Villa Chardonnay each week and we are raising funds to  purchase a truck- or as many horses as we can save and bring them to the peace of Villa Chardonnay - Together we can do it!
