“I have had the privilege of being personally and professionally associated with Monika Kerber and Villa Chardonnay Rescue & Sanctuary for several years working together on rescue projects. Their mission to save at risk animals locally and all over the world is a shining example of their deep compassion and dedication proving every day that all lives are valued.”

“I love, admire, and respect Villa Chardonnay! I was introduced to Villa Chardonnay a couple of years ago when rescuing and re-homing feral cats. I was blessed to have the opportunity to place five homeless cats at Villa Chardonnay, some of whom had been abused, and all of whom were very timid and afraid of people. Thanks to the loving hearts, hard work, and dedication of Monika and Mercedes, all the cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, and goats at Villa Chardonnay are now living safe, healthy and happy lives. Each time I visit the sanctuary, it truly amazes me to watch the horses peacefully roam around; to be greeted by the energetic and playful dogs; and to spend time with the cats in the newly built awesome cattery. I know that the expenses involved in providing such loving and “fur-ever” care are overwhelming, especially for a non-profit organization that depends on donations and grants. I am grateful that I could donate some money to this very worthwhile organization and pleased with my personal decision to have Villa Chardonnay included in my living trust/will as a beneficiary.”

I have been so thrilled to be able to go to Villa Chardonnay to see one of the loves of my life , Dakota. I have been going every week for 7 years, to love, groom, help feed, and work with this gorgeous 41year old gelding. He and I have been able to have such a storybook relationship thanks to Monika. The grounds of VC are so well kept and allow the horses room to roam and play. Dakota is housed in a spacious barn stall with an outside shaded stall. So, I continue this love story with my beautiful Dakota thanks to VC and Monika

Villa Chardonnay is such a wonderful place, it is not just a horse rescue but a sanctuary where they accept not only young healthy horses but also the older, sick or injured animals. The owners Monika and Mercedes are so dedicated to the care of all the animals living at the Villa.
I personally have 2 older horses which I was no longer able to care for, they now live at Villa Chardonnay where they will live the rest of their life. I searched several horse rescues looking for a home for them but was told by most that the best thing for old horses is to have them put down so they didn’t end up at slaughter. Well that wasn’t an option and then I found the Villa and Monika was very happy to help me. They moved in last year and are very happy and healthy, get fed 3 times a day, feet trimmed and vet checked when necessary. And I get to visit them and all the other horses whenever I want. I love it there so peaceful.
There are several old, blind and animals with old injuries living at the Villa and Monika knows all their names and the stories behind their rescues.
Monika and Mercedes are very special, there’s not to many people that would give up their lives to care for animals like they do.

Monika and Villa Chardonnay are amazing beyond words and my Aunt Paula’s horse, Chance will be very happy here. A terrible car crash took my aunt away from her horse.
It’s a beautiful tranquil place I see the animals well taken care of when it’s cold they all have jackets on they have well maintained barns and stables and plenty of food and attentive care. Most importantly, they have Monika, who’s a very loving person, to watch over them and make sure all is well.
Monika and Mercedes do amazing things. The animals at Villa Chardonnay are treated like royalty and the workers believe that they deserve to be treated as such. Villa is a beautiful sanctuary where the animals are happy and healthy. If you ever get a chance to go visit, I would highly recommend it!

What an amazing place! ALL the animals are healthy, happy, and content. It is a joy to visit this Heaven on Earth forever home to so many neglected and abused beloved animals. I have a great respect to the founder, Monika, for her amazing dedication to all her furry kids! I love you Monika and iI love VIlla Chardonnay!
Villa Chardonnay is the real deal. The love and dedication that Monika, the CEO, shows for her “babies” is apparent and awe-inspiring. It’s a beautiful place, a true sanctuary, with mountains, grass, trees and lots of room for the horses to roam and graze. Mercedes told me about this place over the phone, but when I saw it, it surpassed my expectations. Monika and her staff are hard-working, compassionate people who take really good care of their variety of animals, and they appreciate the people who loved them enough to bring them there.
This Sanctuary is a slice of Horse Heaven on Earth and their CEO & Founder Monika is a true Angel!!! I could NOT get enough of this place…..it’s a beautiful, natural setting for the Horses….they get to roam in large herds as well as freely about the property….they are clearly all so well taken cared for and Happy!
Here you will find a FIVE STAR sanctuary for horses and other animals. I was so impressed by this amazing place! When you visit there it will restore your faith in Human Kindness when you meet the amazing caregiver Monika!
Wonderful animal sanctuary with knowledgeable caring CEO Monika, whom is also active in their care. They take in horses with chronic issues but loving personalities, save so many from the slaughter house including young former race horses … Turkeys, over 50 cats a few goats are all equally loved and given wonderful lives.
