These beautiful foals are about 10 months old. Thier mothers were killed in the BLM round-ups in Nevada. They are still wild and we are working with them with their ground manners. These babies need blankets, vaccines, training and more. Be the first to sponsor one of these babies in need. Why should I sponsor a horse? Why does VC have so many?
The soring overpopulation of abandoned horses in the US is due to several factors. The economy has caused anormous numbers of horses to become homeless. The US has banned slaughter houses in the US which is a huge win, however with no federal funding there are an additional 100,000 horses EVERY YEAR that are abandoned and homeless and all of them have become dependant on local rescues.
Alfalfa prices are UP 100% this winter due to a drought this past spring. What we paid $9.50 for last summer is now $19.75 a bale for alfalfa.
How do I sponsor my horse? - Can I visit my horse?
It's easy to sponsor a loving horse, after you have selected your horse you can make your sponsorship contribution on line with a credit card or let us know if you will send a monthly check. After you have paid by clicking any donate button, send an email to: louise@villachardonnay.org and let us know which loving horse you would like to sponsor. We will send your Villa Chardonnay Certificate of Sponsorship, with a picture of your horse. Then call us to come and visit your horse! ALL of our babies are permanent residents of Villa Chardonnay. We love them and care for them and they may have special needs that would not be helped by moving from home to home. Sponsorship allows us to maintain the horses who are permanent residents of Villa Chardonnay and especially help them through recovery.
Each of the horses at Villa Chardonnay may be sponsored for $25 to $100 a month, this will only cover a small portion of the costs for each horse. The monthly expenses per horse are about $250 - $300. We will keep you updated on the progress and everyday life of your sponsored horse via emails at your request! Sponsorship helps us to properly care for these wonderful animals. It assists us in purchasing nutrious hay & alfalfa, grain, pellets for our older friends, medicine if needed, vitamins, hoof care, veterinary care, wormers, vaccinations, etc. Sponsorship is a great outlet for you to put your arms around an animal that really needs you.
If you would like to sponsor one of our horses you can select the horse or Wild Mustang you want to sponsor and send us a check or use PayPal to donate. Please Email us louise@villachardonnay.org to let us know which baby you would like to sponsor. We will send you a picture of your horse and a sponsorship certificate. You are also welcome to visit, by appointment, and bring your horse treats (they LOVE carrots), brush them, etc.
